120 requests for extension or creation of terraces by May 19

The city of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) and the Union des Métiers et des Industries de l’Hôtellerie (UMIH) will support the reopening of cafes and restaurants from this Wednesday, May 19, in compliance with the health protocol. Initiated in 2020, the derogatory and temporary extension system and the creation of terraces is extended free of charge for 2021. Among the objectives set out in an accompanying Charter for the reopening of drinking establishments, it is a question of “allow establishments to operate while respecting the rules of physical distancing” as well as “to compensate, as far as possible, the loss of interior surfaces by the deployment of additional tables on the public domain (if the configuration of the premises allows it)”.

Temporary pedestrian streets

This device will result in the establishment of pedestrian zones in certain streets on weekends from Friday, June 11, Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. until June 26, then from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. h 30 until August 29, 2021. These times may change depending on health restrictions and in particular the times of a possible curfew. All motorized and cyclist traffic will be prohibited on the following streets : rue de la Parcheminerie, rue Vasselot, rue Saint-Melaine, rue de Saint-Malo, rue Nantaise, rue Baudrairie, rue de Penhoët, rue de Montfort. “A municipal decree will make the ban on traffic and parking effective.
