120 new jobs in Liesing: The new Amazon distribution center starts operations

Amazon has opened a new distribution center in Vienna Liesing and is working there with several independent delivery partners to enable fast and reliable parcel delivery.

LIESING. Amazon has created around 120 jobs on the 7,900 square meters in the new distribution center in the 23rd district. Around 400 drivers are responsible for the delivery of the parcels to the customers.

Parcels from Amazon’s logistics and sorting centers arrive at the distribution center, are then picked up by the delivery partners and delivered to the customer.

“We are very pleased to open another distribution center in Vienna, which has more than 20 years of logistical competence, technological progress and investments in the transport infrastructure. Amazon customers benefit from faster and more flexible delivery options, ”comments Robert Viegers, Director of Amazon Logistics.

Special security measures

As in the Großebersdorf distribution center, Amazon has fully implemented the group-wide and highly efficient security measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the new distribution center in Vienna Liesing.

Mandatory mouth and nose protection, numerous disinfection stations, extensive floor markings, redesigned break rooms and countless other measures ensure health and occupational safety in the Amazon distribution centers in Austria.
