The Red Cross received 120 gold bars that were found on a Swiss train about four years ago, after efforts failed to find the owner, according to what the Public Prosecution Office in the Swiss region of Lucerne announced.
The beginning was in October 2019, when a train attendant found a parcel with the words “Valuables belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross” written on it during a flight from St. Gallen to Lucerne, according to a statement by the regional public prosecutor’s office. The statement indicated that “the parcel contained 120 gold bars.” .. Its weight is 3.7 kilograms.. Despite extensive investigations, it was not possible to identify the owner, so it was decided to hand over the gold to the International Committee of the Red Cross.
