The 12-year-old girl who threatened her teacher with a knife, in a college in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), was hospitalized and placed in judicial custody. In 2022, she was excluded from her establishment after trying to hit a teacher.
Students at Les Hautes Ourmes college in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), where a 12-year-old threatened her teacher with a knife, resumed classes on Thursday, December 14 in a heavy atmosphere. The school is in a state of shock. A professor confides: “I’ve been in REP for eight years [Réseau d’éducation prioritaire, NDLR], and I have not had a year without violent incidents. It’s quite difficult to face on a daily basis.” In order to help the students and staff of the establishment through this particular stage, a listening cell has been set up.
A student “in crisis”
The schoolgirl was placed in judicial detention before being hospitalized to carry out a psychiatric examination. Last year the girl had been expelled from another college after trying to hit a teacher. “She is a student who was in crisis at that time”explains a colleague of the teacher.
