NEW YORK — Police are searching for a 12-year-old boy with autism who they say went missing from his Brooklyn school on Tuesday.
Police say the school told them the boy, identified as Andrew Burney, left through an emergency side door at PS 369 on State Street in the Boerum Hill neighborhood around 12:30 p.m. He was wearing a gray sweater and black pants.

The Education Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Anyone who sees Burney is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
