12 countries have confirmed themselves to advance to the round of 16 Euro 2020 and now need four more contestants. Here are those who have gone.
English, Croatia and the Czech Republic became the three latest countries from Group D to get tickets to the round of 16. England won the group after beating the Czechs and runners-up Croatia after beating Scotland.
Czechs qualify through the best third position standings. The Czechs collect four points on the special table, the same as Switzerland.
England is merged with Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands who already have the status of group winners. Croatia matched Wales, Denmark and Austria as runners-up.
Sweden and France have also locked tickets to the last 16 even though they have only played twice and both have collected four points. If bad things happen to both teams on the last matchday of the group phase, Sweden and France can still qualify through the best third position.
four more tickets that will be contested by eight countries. Two of them are waiting through the best three positions, namely Ukraine and Finland with the hope that Portugal will be slaughtered by France and Spain will lose to Slovakia.
So far in the round of 16, there are only two pairs whose opponents have been confirmed. There is Italy vs Austria and Wales vs Denmark.
Belgium currently has to wait for participants from the best three positions in Group A/E/F. Croatia is waiting for the runner-up from Group F, England will be met with the runner-up in Group F, and the Netherlands is waiting for the best third-placed opponent in Group D/F.
