Cleveland (USA), March 17 (EFE) .- The point guard Collin Sexton had 29 points as leading scorer for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who beat the Boston Celtics 117-110, and cut their streak of four consecutive losses.
Cleveland also ended a nine-game losing streak to the Celtics, who wore their familiar green on St. Patrick’s Day.
Cleveland had its first win since the All-Star break.
Guard Darius Garland contributed 25 points and power forward Larry Nance had a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds that also helped the Cavaliers win.
While power forward Jayson Tatum with 29 points again led the Celtics’ attack, who lacked consistency once again in the decisive moments.
Guard Jaylen Brown had 28 points and point guard Marcus Smart reached 19 points as Boston’s best scorer who lowered his mark to 20-20 after suffering the second consecutive loss and occupying the seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
The Celtics were left without starting point guard Kemba Walker (knee injury management) and Canadian center Tristan Thompson (Covid-19 health and safety protocols).
