All agenda items accepted, the board re-elected and yes to the replacement new building project Buchwiesen in Seebach: Because of the corona pandemic, the general assembly of the Glattal Zurich building cooperative took place in writing this year as well.
The 78th ordinary general assembly of the Glattal Zurich building cooperative (BGZ) was held in writing due to the ongoing corona situation. In addition to the usual business issues, as every three years, there were board elections and a loan of 116.5 million francs for the new Buchwiesen replacement buildings in Seebach had to be voted on.
“The turnout was gratifyingly high,” writes the BGZ in a press release. A total of 462 valid voting envelopes were received at the office of the neutral acceptance point of the Swiss housing cooperatives. This was over 100 more than in 2020. The votes were counted at the office under the direction of Mia Vorburger from the legal service of the Swiss housing cooperatives.
All of the usual business topics of the 2020 annual report, 2020 annual financial statements, appropriation of profits and interest on the share capital as well as the discharge of the executive bodies were clearly accepted.
The board’s motion to postpone the replacement candidacy for the resigning actuary Arnold Meier to the 2022 general assembly was also approved. The chairman of the board, Thomas Lohmann, and the previous board members René Nötzli, Marion Schrade, Ximena Schaeidt, Hans-Peter Sommer, Petra Roth and Isabel Gebhard were clearly confirmed with around 90 percent.
Construction would start in October 2022
With the vote on the replacement building project Buchwiesen in Seebach, the voters decided on a loan of 116.5 million francs for the construction of 255 new residential units instead of the row houses built in 1946/1947. Terraced houses and apartment buildings are planned. With 74 percent yes-votes, the credit for the “Faire la Cour” project was clearly accepted by the BS + EMI architects partner and Hoffmann & Müller landscape architecture team.
Construction of the first stage is scheduled to start in October 2022, and the new buildings are expected to move into the autumn of 2024. The second stage is scheduled to start in January 2025 and should be ready for occupancy at the beginning of 2027. (pd.)
