Chicago (USA), December 6 (EFE).- Slovenian Luka Doncic, with his sixth triple double of the season, and Tim Hardaway Jr, with 29 points and six 3-pointers, gave the Dallas Mavericks a precious victory this Tuesday in the field of some Denver Nuggets who suffered a third straight loss.
Doncic had 22 points, ten rebounds and twelve assists, the last of which was decisive for Dorian Finney Smith’s 3-pointer that paved the way to victory.
At 23, the Slovenian already has 52 triple-doubles in his four-season NBA career.
The Slovenian once again had the help of Tim Hardaway Jr, who sealed his season-best performance with 29 points, six-of-eight three-pointers, three rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Hardaway Jr. made at least five 3-pointers for the fifth straight game and Dorian Finney Smith had 19 points, with five connecting shots from the arc.
The Mavericks avenged a home loss to the Nuggets on November 20 to move into seventh place in the West with a 13-11 record. The Nuggets are fourth (14-10).
Jason Kidd’s team entered the game after routing the West league leaders Phoenix Suns 130-111 and held up the pace well as they visit the Nuggets, which marked their seventh game in the last eleven matchdays .
For the Nuggets the best was Aaron Gordon, with 27 points and eight rebounds, while Nikola Jokic contributed 19 points, with eight rebounds and eight assists.
Bones Hyland had 20 points, including five of ten in triples, for the Colorado team.
Bruce Brown scored twelve points, including a 3-pointer to give the Nuggets a 112-111 lead with 37 seconds left, but the Mavericks were quick to respond, with Doncic assisting behind the back for Finney Smith’s 3-pointer.
It was the play that proved to be decisive as the Mavericks celebrated their third straight win.
