12:30 The swimming pool I Zwartsluis reopens after the evacuation
The De Kogge swimming pool in Zwartsluis reopened this afternoon. The staff of the De Kogge swimming pool in Zwartsluis had to leave in a hurry this morning because a pungent odor suddenly arose during the maintenance work. A chemical reaction took place when topping up the sulfuric acid which, among other things, led to foaming. There were no swimmers in the pool at the time of the accident.
The chemical reaction probably started because there was a substance in a container other than the one thought. The substance has now been removed in cooperation with the supplier. At the beginning of the afternoon, the fire brigade carried out measurements in and around the swimming pool, which showed that there are (no longer) dangerous substances in the air. The pool may reopen.
