On Saturday afternoon, the animal ambulance in Etten-Leur was called in because a large bird, a cormorant, was trapped behind a grid by the water. Animal control workers were also unable to free the animal.
Ultimately, the fire brigade had to intervene. The animal is doing well and is again free to go and fly where it pleases.
