During a major check in Roosendaal, four cars were seized yesterday and thousands of euros in arrears and taxes were collected. The action was at recreation park De Stok and lasted several hours. The police cooperated with the Tax and Customs Administration on this.
The police issued 45 tickets for various traffic violations, including driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. One car was seized because of doubts about its technical condition. Another car was confiscated because it was not registered in someone’s name (a so-called ghost vehicle).
The Tax and Customs Administration collected a total of 2029 euros in arrears. Two cars were also seized in connection with outstanding receivables. Two drivers received an assessment of 850 euros because they misused license plates. Three drivers have to pay 1500 euros because they drove a foreign vehicle and failed to pay road tax.
