Traffic on the A4 motorway from Rotterdam to Bergen op Zoom has a very long evening rush hour. Due to an accident at the Bergen op Zoom-Zuid exit, there was a 4-kilometer traffic jam at half past six, with a delay of up to an hour at one point. Only one lane is available. Rijkswaterstaat expects the cleaning work to last until a quarter past seven. Only then can the entire road be cleared.
At around 7:30 there was still a 3 kilometer traffic jam, but the extra journey time between Steenbergen and Bergen op Zoom-Zuid had dropped to half an hour. At least three cars were involved in the accident. One of the vehicles overturned.
