A large tree branch broke off in the night from Thursday to Friday and ended up on the Ollandseweg in Sint-Oedenrode. Local residents heard a dull bang after which it turned out that the branch had broken off, a 112 correspondent reported. The branch has probably become top heavy due to rainfall and has therefore broken off.
Before hitting the ground, the branch also damaged a lamppost. The fire brigade had to be called in to cut the tree into pieces and clear the road again. The wood was placed in the verge, so that traffic could use the Ollandseweg again.
