20.55: Collision between two cars in Veendam
Two cars collided on the Sorghvlietlaan in Veendam, not far from the Tropiqua swimming pool. One of the cars went into the median after impact.
At least one car occupant was injured in the accident and taken to hospital.
8.45pm: A car with four occupants collides with a tree in Veendam
A car crashed into a tree on Westerbrink in Veendam. There were four occupants in the car. Three have managed to leave the middle, a fourth person is still trapped in the middle. The firefighters try to free the person.
20.30: House robbery in City
On Friday a house was robbed on the Winschoterdiep in the city of Groningen. Friends found the resident gagged in the bedroom.
17.50: Injured cyclist in collision with car in Stadskanaal
A cyclist collided with a car on the Cypressenhage in Stadskanaal. The cyclist was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The police are investigating the causes of the accident.
13.40: ‘Hyperactive handyman’ causes smoke on the veranda
Firefighters went to Spaans Aakstraat in the city of Groningen after smoke was seen in several apartment buildings. According to a spokesperson for the fire department, he was “a hyperactive handyman with a puzzle, who didn’t realize how much smoke was released.”
13.05: Cyclist and scooter collide
A cyclist and a scooter collided on Rijksweg West between Westerbroek and Waterhuizen. An ambulance arrived at the scene, a police spokesman said, but the conditions of the people involved are not known.
13.10: The problems at the Zuidbroek bridge are over
The bridge barriers on the N33 over the Winschoterdiep near Zuidbroek are working again. The traffic that wanted to go towards Veendam was unable to pass for about an hour from about eleven o’clock because the bars remained closed.
11.35: Breakdown at the Zuidbroek bridge
The bridge over the Winschoterdiep on the N33 near Zuidbroek has found a malfunction.

07.15: Cars collide at the intersection in Delfzijl
Two cars collided at the intersection of the N360 and the Fivelweg in Delfzijl. One of the cars hit the side of the other head-on. There are police and an ambulance on site.
