4:30 pm – An 89-year-old woman returns home after the van enters the Lek
An 89-year-old woman from Nieuw-Lekkerland returned home from the hospital after the van she was in pulled into the Lek. It happened on Saturday night in Krimpen aan de Lek. The van had exited the ferry platform at the place where the ferry to Kinderdijk was. The ferry skipper was right across the street. She saw it happen and came back. The passengers of the ferry jumped into the water to get the occupants of the van off. Police say the accident was caused by driver error.

13:45 – Domestic violence degenerates into stabbing
One person was injured in a stabbing at a Dordrecht home on Sunday evening. It happened around 7 pm in the Camphuijzenstraat in the Krispijn district.

The wounded is said to be a man. Police arrested a woman and claimed the stabbing was linked to domestic violence.

1:30 pm – Police find a firearm in a car to the south
While checking a car on Sunday evening, police found a firearm. This happened after a noise disturbance report on the Maeterlinckweg.

There, the agents met a group of about twenty men seated under a viaduct. The group was ordered to leave. “Given their intoxication conditions, they were not allowed to get into the car,” police said. “A 31-year-old driver from Rotterdam did it anyway. He was later checked for drunk driving. As he couldn’t identify himself, his car was checked. The officers found a firearm.” .
