A soldier was taken to hospital Wednesday night after an accident in the De Stok swimming pool in Roosendaal. Several ambulances and a trauma helicopter were called to help. There was also the Defense Medical Service. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. What exactly happened is not known.
As a soldier is involved in the incident, the investigation is led by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. “We are investigating whether it was an unfortunate accident or not,” a spokesperson said. He confirms that there was a military exercise that evening.
In 2018, a soldier was injured in an accident in the De Stok swimming pool. A corporal fell ill during an exercise in the swimming pool. He died two days later from complications from the accident. It is not known whether the same exercise took place on Wednesday evening.
