Traffic on the A27 motorway from Breda in the direction of Gorinchem has had to deal with a considerable delay this afternoon. Between the Hooipolder junction and Werkendam there was a traffic jam of 10 kilometers by four o’clock, which entailed a delay of almost 45 minutes. Cause was an accident. Traffic was advised to drive via Oosterhout and Dordrecht on the A59 and A16.
Around a quarter to five it was announced that the right lane, which was closed, had been reopened to traffic. At that time there was still a traffic jam of 5 kilometers between Oosterhout and Hank, which meant a loss of time of about twelve minutes. A traffic jam of 8 kilometers (with a delay of 6 minutes) formed between Hank and the Avelingen industrial area.
