Police today arrested a third suspect in a major investigation into the illegal import of mass explosive fireworks. It concerns an 18-year-old man from Veghel. Earlier, a 39-year-old man from Eindhoven and a 21-year-old man from Son en Breugel were arrested. The police do not rule out that more people will be arrested.
On December 13, the police received a report from a company on the Kanaaldijk-Noord in Eindhoven. A pallet was delivered there with 5400 cobras. Two days later, the police confiscated another 1100 cobras in a residential area in Boekel. The police launched an investigation and arrested the first two suspects. Subsequently, two garage boxes in Eindhoven were investigated. Another 1500 kilos of heavy mass explosive fireworks were found there.
