A Feyenoord fan from Oud Gastel has been arrested for participating in the attack on a fan at Feyenoord’s De Kuip stadium. On July 24, the Rotterdam club played a friendly match against Olympique Lyon. According to the police, a 21-year-old man from Groningen was walking around in FC Groningen sports shorts “due to the circumstances”. He was there with his 16 year old brother.
Seven men, including Oud Gastel’s man, saw Groningen’s pants and attacked him. They hit and shoved the man, causing him to fall violently between the seats in the grandstand. One of the suspects removed the man’s sports shorts and took them with him. Groninger reported all of this. The seven men were arrested in September and October, including the Oud Gastel fan. However, the police only announced the arrests this Wednesday.
