23.25 House fire in Hoogezand
A house fire has raged on Groen van Prinstererstraat in Hoogezand. According to the spokesman for the fire service, ‘rubbish was set and the fire spread to a shed, after which the fire spread to the house’.

22.20: After a collision with another car, the car ends up in the Uithuizermeeden ditch
After a collision between two cars in Uithuizermeeden, a car ended up in a ditch. The accident happened around 10.20 pm at the intersection of Hefswalsterweg and Langelandsterweg.

British motorcycle racer James Shanes has suffered a serious crash at the international grass track races in Aduard. It is not yet clear how Shanes is doing. He is taken by ambulance to a hospital in the city of Groningen.

– 20.20: Fire brigade extinguishes roadside fire in Tusschenwegen
The fire brigade has extinguished a roadside fire in the Tusschenwegen nature reserve, south of Winschoten. A fire had started right next to the bike path. Firefighters extinguished the fire with fire whips and extinguished it with a high-pressure jet.

A car ambulance and a motorcycle collided at an intersection in Noorderstraat in Sappemeer. The motorcyclist was injured and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The nature of the injuries is unknown.
