14:42 – An ambulance collides with a car in Schiedam, one injured
An ambulance collided with a passenger car at the intersection of Delflandseweg and ‘s Gravenlandseweg in Schiedam.
One of the drivers was injured, according to a police spokesman. It is not yet clear which of the two cars was driving the injured driver.
The rest of the ambulance was empty, but it was on its way to a patient.
12:45 – Side truck in Schelluinen, possibly full of corpses
In Schelluinen a truck overturned in a meadow. According to local media, it is filled with twenty tons of dead bodies.
Firefighters wouldn’t say if there are actually carcasses in the car. However, the truck is owned by a company that usually transports dead bodies, a spokesperson said. He points out that nothing has leaked.
The incident occurred around noon. The driver managed to escape from the car by himself. He was checked by the ambulance.
12:27 – Vogel flies on a motor plane at Rotterdam The Hague Airport
A Corendon plane that took off from Rotterdam The Hague airport had to land prematurely. The plane, with final destination Antalya, collided with a bird. The animal ended up in one of the engines.
The plane was supposed to divert to Amsterdam. There the engine can be inspected and repaired if necessary. The Rotterdam runway needed to be cleaned.
The bird did not survive the collision.
11:00 – Update: N496 between Rockanje and Oostvoorne free again
The N496 between Rockanje and Oostvoorne was temporarily closed by a scissor truck.
Police say it was a one-vehicle accident. The truck had to swerve, after which it stopped on the side of the road.
8:14 – Several cars catch fire on Thursday night
On Thursday night, the cars went up in flames in several places in the region. Two cars on Battery Street in Rotterdam-Feijenoord were completely burned down. The police are investigating. The fire may have been started, according to police. A car was also burned in Capelle aan den IJssel. Police also suspect the car was set on fire.

The ferry service between Maassluis and Rozenburg will be suspended for weeks.
The Blue Amigo ferry service hoped that the service could be resumed this week. This is not the case. New parts are needed to repair the ferry. They have been ordered, but delivery will take some time
