State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) paid BGN 7.2 million (BGN 7,275,553) to 111 animal breeders under the Eco scheme for organic farming (farm animals) – (Eco – BZ) for Campaign 2023. The rate at which the financial support was paid is BGN 699.88 per ha and was determined by order of the Minister of Agriculture and Food.
The aid amount is determined per hectare of permanently grassed area and/or areas with fodder crops for as many hectares as the ratio of 0.15 to 1 VE/ha is observed. The requirement is that farmers have a minimum of 0.5 ha of pasture/fodder crops.
Farmers who raise their own cattle, buffaloes, sheep and/or goats, pasture-raised pigs of the Eastern Balkan pig breed on their farm according to the rules of organic production and manage permanently grassed areas and/or areas with fodder crops in an organic way (Ordinance No. 3 of 10.03.2023).
Under Eco – BZ, permanently grassed areas and/or areas with fodder crops in transition to organic production, for which the applicant has already received support for transition to organic production for two years, under this or another intervention or measure, are not supported 214 of the 2007-2013 RDP or measure 11 of the 2014-2020 RDP.
