New Year’s Eve in the Offenbach district was relatively quiet.
The control center in Dietzenbach processed a total of 111 operations, 35 for the fire brigade and 76 for the rescue service. The number of implementations is at the level of the last two years, compared to the pre-Corona period, the number of implementations is significantly lower. The firefighters had a lot more work to do than the previous year. The emergency services were alerted 32 times for mostly minor firefighting operations via fireworks. There were also three rescue missions.
On the way back from an operation, firefighters in Dreieich were attacked with tear gas by a group of six people. One colleague had to be transported to a clinic for treatment, the other two could be treated on an outpatient basis. The police have launched an investigation.
“Thank you to everyone who worked for people through the end of the year,” said District Administrator Oliver Quilling on New Year’s morning. “In particular, I wish a speedy recovery to the three injured firefighters.”
