The first direct flight in eight years between Trinidad and Tobago and the island of Margarita brought 110 tourists from the Caribbean country to new spartaas confirmed this Friday by the Ministry of Tourism of the administration of Nicolás Maduro.
The Tourism portfolio provided details in a statement, noting that the people landed at the Santiago Mariño International Airport in the city of Porlamar, in a Rutaca airline flight.
There was the Minister of Tourism of the Maduro administration, Alí Padrón, who received them. According to the official, another 22 flights are expected to arrive this year from Trinidad and Tobago.
“This is a joint effort at all three levels, popular power, the private sector, and the national government. Receptive tourism will increase to the extent that we arrange our efforts to achieve the objective“, he explained.
He assured that the long-term goal is to make Venezuela a constant tourist route, a job that, in his opinion, could be materialized between private airlines, hotel operators on the island of Margarita and the Executive.
Padrón recalled that In recent months, around 6,000 Cuban tourists have arrived in Margarita.
Likewise, he explained that tourists from Poland will also arrive soon, and that Russian visits to destinations such as Los Roques, Margarita, Canaima or Caracas continue.
