110 resuscitation services on strike to ask for more resources and recognition

As the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic continues, staff resuscitation and intensive care services were called on strike by the CGT Health and by a group of caregivers on Tuesday. Some 110 services were mobilized according to the CGT. As with every hospital strike, the services continue to operate, with requisitioned staff.

Salaries, staff and recognition of arduousness

The caregivers claim salary and staff increases. The list of demands includes the attribution of an “index bonus”, but also “sufficient staff and under permanent status”, or even “a real recognition of the arduousness” of these professions, highlighted by the Covid-19 .

The consequence of the government’s lack of response to the difficulties encountered during the health crisis

“This day is the consequence of the government’s lack of response to the difficulties encountered during the various waves of the health crisis”, affirms the union in a leaflet published last Tuesday, at the same time as the notice of strike.

The initiative for this strike came from a new group of caregivers, baptized “Union of the reanimations of France for a recognition”, whose existence is limited to a private group created in December on Facebook.

Services on strike across France

The resuscitation services in several regions have decided to go on strike: this is particularly the case in Marseille, Perigueux, Saint Nazaire, in the Some, Saint-Etienne and Roanne, Limoges, Béziers, Valence, Lyon, Toulon, Lorient, Chartres, Ajaccio and Saint-Quentin.

“Every day we lack personnel, resources, we are constantly reminded when we are on leave, fatigue accumulates, testifies Myriam, met in Valence by France Bleu Drôme-Ardèche. We would like to be recognized for everything we do. “

Other unions, like FO or South, locally support these social movements, but have not filed a national notice to date. Beyond this mobilization of sheaves, the CGT is preparing a new day of action in the health sector on June 15.
