11 Personalities Awarded Lifelong Scholarships by State Cultural Capital Fund VKKF

The State Cultural Capital Fund (VKKF), after evaluating 55 applied candidates, has decided that 11 personalities will receive lifelong scholarships in the amount of 230 euros, informs VKKF representative Ilona Skuja.

Among the recipients of lifetime scholarships are the former actor and director of the Liepāja theater, later director of the “Animation Brigade” studio, composer, artist and producer Māris Putniņš and Līvija Otanķe, the storyteller of Lejaskurzeme, the inheritor of Bārta’s songs.

Fashion artist, designer Ingrīda Drāzniece will also receive lifelong scholarships every month; film editor Ruta Frijare; historian and art scholar Rihards Pētersons; poet, storyteller and translator Edvins Raup; bibliographer Andris Vilks; composer Vilnis Šmīdbergs; pianist, musicologist and pedagogue Rafi Haradjanyan; actor, director, acting teacher Edmunds Freibergs and artist Kristaps Ģelzis.

From 2024, the amount of the VKKF Lifetime Scholarship has been increased to 230 euros per month.
