11 Memorial Hermann workers are in quarantine after contact with a patient who tested positive for coronavirus | Univision 45 Houston KXLN

Houston Texas. – Hermann Memorial Hospital reported on Saturday, March 7, that 11 of its workers were in direct contact with one of the patients confirmed with coronavirus. Employees have been placed in quarantine for 14 days as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

One of the workers has manifested minor symptoms so far, all of them have undergone examinations and are under observation, the medical institution said in a statement.

“The patient manifested symptoms of gastrointestinal problems, indicated that he had traveled to Egypt, a country that was not on the list of countries with contagious spreads. After undergoing treatment, the patient was discharged,” said Hermann Memorial representatives in a press conference

He adds that they work closely with the Houston health departments to ensure the safety of employees, doctors and patients.

During the meeting with the media, it was not said in which Memorial Hermann hospital in the area the employees work, for privacy reasons.
