Oberwittstadt. (kr) In the high summer temperatures, the visitors had a slight advantage in the first half of the game. Hornung cleared the visitors’ first chance with an overhead kick on the line. TSV keeper Kunz was able to thwart a double chance for the visitors in the 33rd minute. In the 39th minute, Alex Albert was sent on his way and coolly scored to give the visitors the lead.

After the break, TSV was able to keep the game even and had chances to equalize through Tom Götzinger and Christian Schledorn, but these were not used. TSV was unable to create any further notable chances against a well-positioned guest defense. After Alex Albert was roughly stopped in the penalty area in the 82nd minute, he safely converted the resulting penalty to make it 0-2.
The offensive efforts of both teams, which had become rare due to the high temperatures, remained unused until the final whistle, so that the visitors’ victory on the first match day of the Odenwald regional league was not undeserved.
