1,010 new cases and 14 deaths- Corriere.it

I’m 1.010 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 907, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.265.714 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 14 (yesterday there were 24), for a total of 127,718 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.096.156 e 1.735 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (1,835 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 41.840, equal to -739* compared to yesterday (-952 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 177.977, or 14,447 less than yesterday when it was 192,424. While the rate of positivity 0,6% (the approximation of 0.567%); yesterday it was 0.5%, below 1% from 15 June. who the map of the contagion in Italy.

More infections in 24 hours than yesterday. The curve exceeds the threshold of 1,000 new infections (after two weeks below this value): it has not happened since June 19. That doesn’t seem like a good sign. From the comparison with the last Wednesday (June 30) – on the same day of the week – when +776 cases were registered with a positive rate of 0.4%, no improvement was observed: today there are more new infections than June 30th with a higher percentage.

The curve of the new positives on the Civil Protection website

The Campania has the greatest increase in positives: +208 cases with a rate of 1.5%. A region had not had more than 200 cases since mid-June (see +232 in Lombardy on June 17). Instead, as far as Campania is concerned, it did not communicate more than 200 infections since June 10. They follow: Sicily (+109), Lazio (+104) e Lombardy (+100). The latter processed almost 32,000 swabs – the highest number of regional tests of the day – thus determining a rate of 0.3%, which is half the national rate.

According to the WHO, globally cases have increased for the second consecutive week (over 2.6 million confirmed infections), 3% more than the previous week, while the number of deaths continues to decrease: from 28 June to 4 July, almost 54 thousand victims were reported, – 7% compared to the week before, the lowest figure since the beginning of October 2020.

The victims

Victims are decreasing: they are 14 against 24 yesterday. This is the second lowest figure of 2021, after the 12 deaths on Sunday 4 July, and equal to the 14 deaths on Sunday 27 June. The difference with the previous low data that we are not on a public holiday, consequently the complete number (not affected by partial communications to the system). I’m five regions that communicate mourning: these are Campania, Lazio, Puglia, Tuscany and Sicily, with Lazio having the highest number of deaths (7). Below is the detail.

The health system

The steady decline in hospitalizations continues, both in critical and non-critical areas. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -37 (yesterday -66), for a total of 1,234 hospitalized. I beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) I’m -7 – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered IT – (yesterday -4), bringing the total of more seriously ill patients a 180, with 8 new entries in intensive care (yesterday 11).
