Family and nursing staff are delighted with Angelina Friedman, who survived Covid-19 at the proud age of 101.

A month after the Covid 19 diagnosis, there was good news for Angelina Friedman. The 101-year-old survived the virus and thus two pandemics.

The corona virus keeps the world on its toes. Any good news is good for that. One of them did the rounds online: Die 101-year-old Angelina Friedman survived the corona virus.

Friedman was born in 1918 on a passenger ship from Italy to America. Her mother died at birth, so her sisters took care of the newborn. At that time, Spanish flu was already rampant, which was also classified as a pandemic and claimed the lives of millions of people worldwide. Angelina Friedman emerged unscathed from this crisis.

A month after the diagnosis: 101-year-old survived Corona

More than 100 years later, the old lady is faced with a second pandemic. A small operation for which she was hospitalized reveals that she has been infected with the Corona virus. Angelina Friedman then has to spend a week in the hospital, after which she can return to her nursing home, but is still isolated.

There were always fever attacks, but the cough did not come and the airways were clear. A month after the terrifying diagnosis, the doctors confirmed that she had survived the corona virus.

In an interview, her daughter Joanne Melora joked that her mother – like the rest of the family, who all lived to be over 95 years apart from one uncle – had super DNA: “My mother is a survivor. She survived miscarriages, internal bleeding and Cancer.” She went on to say, “Go on, Ma! You will survive us all.”

Angelina Friedman: Active against the corona virus, active in leisure time

While other older people have sometimes ended up with their lives much less, Angelina Friedman is still extremely active for her age. After the illness was over, she behaved as if nothing had happened. Her caregivers report that she ate well and asked for more crochet yarn.

Amy Elba, director of the facility, told CNN: “She is very active. You don’t believe that at her age. In her free time, she does what she has always done.” By the way, she likes to give her crochet gifts away, much to the delight of the visitors.

In the opinion of the nursing staff, Angelina Friedman sets the right signal overall with this positive behavior. And it shows everyone who suffers from the corona crisis that you can still defeat this disease at 101 years of age.

In her nursing home, she is a star even without recovery and was elected ball queen last year. One thing is already certain: As soon as the residents can be together again in a convivial atmosphere, Angelina Friedman will be crowned again.

Many people in Germany have survived Covid-19. The federal government plans to test nationwide in the future and then introduce an immunity card for citizens who have already survived Covid-19.

But here, too, data protection actually has to be clarified – just like the Stop Corona app, which is highly controversial for these reasons.

And then there’s the voluntary Corona Tracking app:
