TANGSEL, RADARBANTEN.CO.ID – The Department of Education and Culture (Dindikbud) in Tangsel Town implemented Distance Learning (PJJ) for all students at SMPN 8 Tangsel, after 101 students at SMPN 8 It was reported that Tangsel had contracted chicken pox or varicella and mumps.
Head of the Middle School Development Department at the South Tangerang Department of Education and Culture, Dedi, said that students at SMPN 8 Tangsel will study at home for 14 days, starting from Thursday, October 17 2024 to Wednesday, October 31 2024.
“After the chicken pox issue, we immediately moved quickly by implementing PJJ. “Students study at home for 14 days,” said Dedi, Saturday, October 19 2024.
Dedi said that currently of the 101 students who were exposed to smallpox, 73 students are still receiving treatment.
“The latest information is that 73 students are still receiving treatment, and the rest have recovered,” he said.
As previously reported, according to a report from the Tangsel City Health Service (Dinkes), referring to the results of an investigation by health workers at the Keranggan Community Health Center, cases of chicken pox and mumps were first reported at SMPN 8 Tangsel. Friday, October 11 2024.
“Reports of new cases continue to increase every week,” wrote the South Tangerang Health Office report.
Children affected by chicken pox and mumps have spread from class VII, class VIII and class IX.
Then, on October 15, new cases were still discovered.
“There are a total of 29 cases of sick children in class VII, 34 students in class VIII, 38 students in class IX with a total of 101 sick children,” the South Tangerang Health Office report wrote.
South Tangerang Health Office recommendations for reporting cases to SMPN 8 South Tangerang are as follows:
1. Health Protocols (Prokes) must be implemented in the school environment, such as keeping distance, not shaking hands, providing hand washing soap, and wearing masks
2. Sterilize classrooms every day with disinfectant liquid while smallpox and mumps are still found.
3. Do not allow children with fever symptoms to enter school.
4. Do not allow children to enter for at least 14 days after the first symptoms appear, such as fever, weakness, body aches, smallpox rash (children may have chickenpox), and signs of inflammation on the right/left cheek, swallowing pain, fever (for children it is possible lumps).
5. Do not allow children to enter if the rash wound is still wet/there are still one or more smallpox droplets containing fluid (for children, it may be smallpox), and the a child
