100K US Troops Now in Europe

BRUSSELS – Secretary General (Secretary General) NATO Jens Stoltenberg said that there are now 100 thousand soldiers United States of America (US) in Europe as NATO increases its presence on the eastern flank of the bloc amid invasion Russia ongoing at Ukraine .

Stoltenberg argued that the number of American servicemen in Europe had increased by several thousand over the past few weeks and they remained on “high alert”.

He described the deployment as an immediate NATO response sending a clear message to Moscow that an attack on one ally would trigger a response from the rest of the alliance.

“Defensive deterrence is not about provoking conflict but preventing conflict. It’s about maintaining peace”, the NATO chief said SputnikFriday (18/3/2022).

He added that NATO had increased support for Ukraine by providing Ukrainian forces with lethal weapons and essential fuel and ammunition to mobilize resistance to what Stoltenberg described as “invading Russian forces”.

He argues that Ukraine’s military today is much stronger than it was in 2014, when NATO instructors started arriving in Ukraine to train local troops.

“(The support) we have given them over the years has proven to be very important,” the NATO chief said, pledging to continue providing Ukraine with weapons.
