“My lawnmower and my chainsaw are louder than many motorcycles”
Background to the protest: In order to reduce noise, the Federal Council had proposed to partially allow bans on motorcycling on Sundays and public holidays.
“We do not want all motorcyclists to be lumped together because of a few black sheep,” said co-organizer Sven Leune of the “Round Table Leipzig and Region” from the German press agency.
And further: “My lawnmower and my chainsaw are louder than many motorcycles. Should they also be banned on the weekend?”

UPDATE, 3.30 p.m.: Around 5000 motorcyclists in Leipzig on the road
As reported by the German press agency, around 5,000 motorcyclists in the trade fair city protested peacefully against possible driving bans in Germany. That means that only half as many people came on Sunday as expected.
Sven Leune was slightly disappointed with the restrained response. But there have been several such demonstrations nationwide.
For Leipzig it was the only one this year.
