Since March we have been awaiting the decree governing the Water saving bonus. At the end of September the decree arrived and we can now know the details of the measure. The objective of the facility is reduce water waste and is part of the plan of the Minister of Ecological Transaction Cingolani.
Amount and requirements of the water saving bonus
The Bonus was created to encourage savings in water resources and allows you to obtain up to 1.000 euro to support interventions aimed at water efficiency. Beneficiaries of the measure are natural persons over the age of 18, residing in Italy, who carry out interventions on existing buildings, individual real estate units or parts of existing buildings. The sum can be used to replace ceramic sanitary ware with new products with reduced discharge and to replace the old taps, shower heads and existing columns with models with water flow limitation.
Characteristics of the incentive
The Bonus can be requested for a single property owned, once and by a single co-holder. The disbursement of the money will take place on the basis of the time order of arrival of the requests until the funds are exhausted. It is important to know that the measure it cannot be combined with other concessions regarding the supply, installation and installation of similar assets. However, the expenses eligible with the water saving bonus include disassembly and decommissioning of the devices in possession. The installation of the new taps can be intended both in the bathroom and in the kitchen and expenses related to any masonry or plumbing works are admitted by the bonus.

How to apply for the water saving bonus
To get the Bonus you will need to access the Water bonus platform and proceed with the registration after having authenticated to the website of the Ministry of Ecological Transition. To authenticate you will need to have the Spid – which has now become indispensable for any PA service – or the Electronic Identity Card. The procedure for requesting the Bonus will require the insertion of personal data, the amount spent, the works carried out and, of course, everything will have to be documented. By indicating the Iban you can get the amount directly on your bank or postal current account.
