Above all, Rosel Präger misses partying. The senior citizen was unable to celebrate her 100th birthday a few months ago with her friends and relatives as usual because of the corona pandemic. Instead, her friends sang her a serenade – corona-compliant in front of Präger’s balcony in the retirement home.
“Would be happy if it starts soon”
Now Präger is expected to be one of the first people in NRW be vaccinated against Corona – she is not afraid. “I belong to the risk group”, said the 100-year-old WDR. “I want to be vaccinated”. She doesn’t know exactly when she will get the vaccination, but “I would be happy if it starts soon”.
Because the isolation makes Präger to create. “So far I’ve survived this here in the home very well. But I’m already worrying. And I hope that it will get better. This being locked away is not so good,” says the 100-year-old. But you couldn’t understand if people would compare the corona pandemic with conditions like during the war.
