An overview of corona news abroad:
- The city New York is going to give 100 dollars to everyone who still gets vaccinated from Friday. Mayor Bill de Blasio announced this on Wednesday, American media report. He hopes with the amount of money to persuade people who still doubt whether they want a shot. It is not the first means that De Blasio uses: he previously offered metro cards and subscriptions for cultural institutions. Vaccinees could also participate in a lottery to win a hotel stay.
- Israel will give vulnerable children between 5 and 11 years old a shot against the corona virus from 1 August. These are children who, due to their health condition, are at risk of serious complications after being infected with the virus. This is reported by Israeli media. They get a shot with the vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech, but less than usual: 1.0 milliliters instead of the 3 milliliters that adults receive. This includes children with brain, heart or lung problems or serious problems with the immune system and children who are very fat.
- Tourists from EU countries need not fear that they Belgium unable to travel. This was decided by the government on Wednesday, ANP news agency reported. Only travelers from a high-risk area outside the 27 EU countries and the four Schengen countries (Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland) risk an entry ban.
