Jamie O’Hara compared Gabby Agbonlahor’s Jack Grealish defense to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Roy Keanes, with the Manchester City forward “not producing”.
Grealish, the Premier League record-breaking £ 100 million signing, had another quiet afternoon against Fulham despite being named in the starting lineup.
The striker made two shots without reaching Bernd Leno on goal and was substituted in the 64th minute, keeping his statistics of the season of one goal and zero assists in 19 games for club and country.
Signed by Aston Villa youth club for a record amount in 2021, the 27-year-old took the championship winner’s medal last season but hoped to improve this season.
So far, however, that has not been the case, as O’Hara wanted to point out Villa’s all-time Premier League scorer and former teammate Grealish Agbonlahor.
“Jack Grealish, Gabby’s friend, was removed again in the 63rd minute, he doesn’t give Man City much,” said the talkSPORT host.
In response, Agbonlahor said: “I don’t think Jack suffers from a lack of trust or confidence, I don’t think so, no.
“The Jack I know, the Jack I’ve played and seen played with, is a confident player, he wants to hit people.
“I think he’s trying. It was frustrating today and he looks frustrated, but I looked at the entire Man City attack line and they all looked frustrated today. The teams lined up very defensively against them.
“I think Jack, he just needs to keep playing his game. He has the confidence to go out and make things happen. He tried today, he tried to make things happen and he shot.
“I think Man City fans should believe in him. He’ll be fine.”
However, O’Hara did not, comparing the former England striker to another expert who was accused of favoritism.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane raised many eyebrows for criticizing Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag for the way he treated Ronaldo after the team drew 1-1 with Chelsea in the absence of the Portuguese forward.
Keane was firmly convinced that three points could be won with Ronaldo, despite the statistics and public opinion strongly opposed to the views of the Irishman.
And O’Hara was quick to draw parallels with Agbonlahor.
“Honestly you are like Roy Keane with Cristiano Ronaldo! You won’t say a bad word about your friend!” he said.

“Jack Grealish is a great player but he doesn’t produce, it’s that simple.
I like Jack very much, I have nothing against him but he continues to be replaced in the first few games, he does not score and does not assist.
“They pay £ 100 million for a player who doesn’t perform. I just say what I see.
“I want Jack Grealish to be okay, I want him to be okay, but I’ll say it as I see him. He didn’t do anything in the game today.”
