With the imminent arrival of the holiday season, the spring break better known as Spring Breakthe city of Miami Beach has decided to take drastic measures to avoid the excesses that usually occur during the season.
While in previous years there have been numerous reports and complaints about noise, public disorder, indecent exposure, an increase in petty crimes and many incidents related to alcohol and illegal drugs, this year the authorities have decided to take precautions.
To protect merchants and residents and maintain tranquility in the area, measures were announced that include really high parking prices, up to $100.
This measure will be accompanied by increased towing rates, greater security and the possibility of establishing a curfew, as reported America TeVé.
Likewise, entrances to Ocean Drive beaches will be limited and subject to security controls, including bag searches to prevent the entry of prohibited items, such as drugs or weapons.
Early closing times will also be established for both liquor stores and restaurants to minimize opportunities for disorder and ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
Measures to implement in Miami Beach during Spring Break
- $100 parking prices on the two highest-impact weekends in March.
- Towing fees of $16, double the regular price.
- Additional checkpoints and security.
- Possibility to set a curfew if necessary.
- Installing machines at the MacArthur Causeway and Julia Tuttle entry points to capture people under arrest warrants before they enter Miami Beach.
