How did Societe Generale and MyFuture adapt the 3rd year internships in companies?
Due to the health developments linked to COVID-19 on French territory, the Ministry of National Education has indicated that the third year internships are not removed but that they have become optional for the 2020/2021 school year. .
During this period, Societe Generale, in partnership with the social enterprise MyFuture, wishes to continue its actions to support the integration of young people through education and contribute to more equal opportunities in access to the business world.
Thus, more than 300 middle school students from priority education districts will be able to discover banking professions during remote internships. Concretely, each week, different classes take part in the project during which a Societe Generale employee presents their profession for an hour and plays the question-and-answer game.

The teleworking internships started on January 11, with colleges located in Île-de-France (Saint-Ouen-L’Aumône, Mantes-la-Jolie, Grigny, Fontenay-sous-Bois, Argenteuil, Cergy, etc.) and in region (Mainvilliers…).
The online internship program lasts for five full days. Students attend discussions with employees in a “video conference” format, as well as conferences hosted by MyFuture on subjects such as the different types of jobs, or even diversity in jobs. So many themes that will allow them to discover the professional world.
The program intends to be as attractive as possible, with the provision of a logbook so that the students can find their way around the week and that they can share their understanding and their questions on the topics covered. Discussion times and quizzes are planned to liven up the week.
More than 80 Societe Generale employees are mobilized to ensure that these weeks run smoothly and that they are an opportunity to present young people with a wide variety of professions. The online internships will run over six weeks, until March 8, 2021.
Despite the format, we managed to have a real exchange with the students who were able to project themselves into concrete situations in our profession. The upstream support by the association allowed me to adapt my speech and make it accessible to young people. I was amazed by the spontaneity and fluidity of this discussion.
