Exactly ten years ago, Vegan4Dogs (V4D) opened its online doors as a pioneer for vegan dog nutrition in Germany and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. From the beginning, the company founders believed in plant-based dog nutrition that was good for four-legged friends while at the same time protecting the rights of all animals.
Vegan4Dogs says it is more than just a vegan dog food company. It is a community of people who take responsibility together – for the dogs, the environment and all animals. The range includes, among other things, V-Complete, nutritional supplements for home-cooked vegan dog food, the complete food Greta dry food and Pauline wet food as well as the snacks Olaf and Lorelai.
The V4D product family consists of herbal ingredients that are specifically tailored to the needs of dogs. The company relies on transparency and develops high-quality recipes that are not only balanced and healthy, but also respect the lives of all animals.
“What was unimaginable for many back then is now a reality: dogs can be fed a healthy, wholesome plant-based diet – for the benefit of the animals and our environment,” says Leni Lecker, founder and managing director of Vegan4Dogs. “Our anniversary is not only a milestone for our company, but also a success for the growing movement around sustainable, animal-friendly nutrition. For us, every feed bag is a small statement for more compassion. The fact that dog owners are choosing vegan dog nutrition shows that more and more people are thinking about the origin of pet food – and that is an important sign.”

Leni Lecker: Commitment to animal rights and plant-based nutrition
Leni Lecker is not only the founder of Vegan4Dogs, but also a passionate animal rights activist, for example with Animal Rebellion. She actively promotes the dissemination of information about vegan dog nutrition and animal rights through lectures and educational events. For example, in September 2023 she spoke at the Animal Rights Congress in Leipzig and in recent summers in front of visitors to the vegan summer festival in Berlin with her message of animal-friendly dog nutrition.
“It’s important to me that people learn about the ethical and health benefits of a vegan diet for their dogs,” says Leni. “This work is truly a matter close to my heart and it fulfills me to work together with our community for a world in which animals do not have to suffer for food.”

Sustainable into the future
Vegan4Dogs wants to remain true to its mission in the future and plans to expand its product range with new, creative ideas – of course sustainable and animal-friendly. With every meal, the company wants to create a small piece of change so that future generations can grow up in a fair and livable world.
“None of this would be possible without our loyal community and our team,” emphasizes Matthias, co-founder of Vegan4Dogs. “We look forward to shaping the future with you and continuing to work to make vegan dog nutrition a completely natural choice.”
