The revolutionary device at that time made it possible to access the Internet, read e-books, watch movies and play games on a 9.7-inch screen. In March 2011, the iPad set a record as the fastest-selling device in the world. Even then, customers could choose between the regular version with Wi-Fi and a model with 3G support. At the end of 2019, the first iPad repeatedly called one of the best gadgets of the decade.

Interestingly, initially at Apple led work on a device that later became an iPad, not an iPhone – the idea of a smartphone was born from working on a tablet. At the same time, the first iPhone was released three years before the tablet, in 2007.

Over 10 years, Apple introduced 7 different generations of tablets, releasing a total of 21 devices. In the iPad line during its existence, both standard 9.7-inch models, as well as 7-inch Mini and 12-inch Pros appeared.
