The camera of the Nokia 808 PureView, which came out exactly 10 years ago, has been compared to the iPhone 14 Pro. The results are quite surprising.
Nokia 808 Pureview was launched in 2012. While this smartphone features a single camera module with a resolution of 41 megapixels, Apple switched to 48 megapixel cameras with the iPhone 14 series introduced in 2022.
The camera features of both phones are as follows:
- Nokia 808: 41 MP, 1 / 1.2 ”, f / 2.4
- iPhone 14 Pro: 48 MP, 1 / 1.28 “, f / 1.8, OIS.
At the same time, Nokia has a larger sensor and a smaller aperture. The iPhone 14 Pro uses Apple’s artificial intelligence software for photo post-processing and optical stabilization.
Let’s now compare the camera performance of these two phones:

Interestingly, the shots taken in daylight appear to be quite close to each other. The 10-year-old flagship of the Finnish company can take much more natural photos in some frames than the iPhone 14 Pro.
The main advantage of the Nokia 808 PureView is that it offers good detail in daytime photos. With a 2x zoom, the photo may be distorted from time to time as the iPhone 14 Pro tries to reveal details in a software way.
Nokia, on the other hand, has no traces of photo processing. At the same time, the details and sharpness of distant objects are generally better on the iPhone.

iPhone 14 Pro takes the lead in night shots
When darkness falls, things change completely. Thanks to night mode and artificial intelligence algorithms, the iPhone 14 Pro takes the lead.
Night photos taken with the iPhone 14 Pro are very sharp, but there is some noise in Nokia’s night photos.
