10-year-old confesses to unsolved murder of man in RV park; victim’s father forgives

The victim in this case is 32-year-old Brandon Rasberry. He was shot to death in 2022 in the trailer he was living in at an RV park. The person who killed him remained a mystery.

The matter came to light when the boy got into trouble at school. He had threatened to kill a pupil, and then admitted that he had killed someone two years earlier, reports local station KSAT.

The boy was visiting his grandparents at the same RV park on the day of the murder. There he would get to his grandfather’s weapon, a 9-millimeter pistol. He brought that to Brandon Rasberry’s trailer. When he saw him sleeping there, he shot the man. Rasberry and the boy did not know each other.

Forgiven by the victim’s father

He was able to tell the police details of the murder that only the perpetrator knew. The police managed to find the weapon and were able to confirm that it was the murder weapon. The boy cannot be charged for the murder because he was too young. In Texas, it is possible to prosecute from the age of 10, so the boy was 7 when he shot the man.

Brandon Rasberry’s family is shocked by the revelation. “This is definitely not the suspect we were expecting,” said Kenneth Rasberry, Brandon’s father against KSAT. He says he has forgiven the boy and hopes he can get the help he needs.
