Anyone who got a new cell phone for Christmas is saying goodbye to the old smartphone. The devices then often wrongly disappear in a drawer and wait there until they are disposed of at some point. And even though they actually still work.

1. Use as a remote control for Smart Home
Anyone who controls the heating, music streaming, video streaming, lighting and other smart home applications at home with their smartphone could use the old device for this. It could make perfect sense to simply install the necessary apps on the old mobile phone in order to then use it as a remote control for the smart home.
That could also help you avoid ending up on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter if you just want to change the light quickly or play a new album via Spotify.
