1. Free airways with a cold
Do you have a cold? Then irritation number one is that stuffy nose and the additional stuffiness. Unfortunately, tiger balm does not solve the common cold, but it does temporarily relieve the complaints. Spread a little tiger balm on your throat, on your chest and under your nose and the strong menthol and eucalyptus scent will open up your airways better.
Please note that you do not put too much under your nose or that you apply it to chapped areas, because this can burn badly.
2. Against itchy mosquito bites
Lying awake to buzzing mosquitoes around your head is annoying, but the itchy mosquito bites they leave behind as a present are just as bad. Although you know that the itch only gets worse when you scratch, it is almost impossible to stay away from it. Looking for a temporary relief and anesthetic from the itch? Just smear some tiger balm on it. Please note that the mosquito bite is not open, otherwise it can burn badly.
3. Repel mosquitoes and other insects
But of course you prefer not to have those mosquitoes (and other insects) in your bedroom at all. Even then tiger balm is a perfect tool, since they don’t like the smell of the balm and prefer to stay as far away from it as possible. Just put some tiger balm on your skin or around the cracks where the mosquitoes always slip through. From now on they prefer to go to the neighbours.
4. Tiger balm for headaches
Tiger balm is also your lifesaver for headaches if you don’t want to resort to painkillers right away. Smear a little balm on your temple and the pain will soon subside.
5. Remove paint from your skin
Don’t feel like walking around with paint on your hands for days after your painting job? Just smear some tiger balm on the skin where the paint stain is and you’ll rub it right off!
6. Neutralize secondary odors
Sweat isn’t exactly the most attractive scent you can carry around. Fortunately, you can neutralize this smell with tiger balm. Spread some of the balm on the places where it smells and you quickly disguise the smell with the strong menthol scent.
7. Warm up cold feet
Do you often suffer from cold feet in bed or on the couch in winter? Just spread a small layer of red tiger balm on your feet, as this balm warms your skin, unlike the white tiger balm which cools. Then you put on warm socks and your cold feet are solved in no time.
8. Remove stickers
Removing stickers is often accompanied by a lot of frustration and sticky residue that cannot be removed. You can of course purchase special sticker removers for that, but a little tiger balm also gets the job done. Just lubricate and let it soak in and after a few minutes you can wipe it off again. Do check first whether the material in question is resistant to the greasy balm and whether it leaves any stains.
9. Against nausea
Suffering from nausea? Smear a small amount of tiger balm under your nose or on your lips to counteract the nausea. Also make sure that you don’t put it on wounds.
10. Relieves muscle pain
Finally, the most famous reason to bring tiger balm into your home should not be missing from this list. Tiger balm is still most commonly used to relieve muscle pain. The red tiger balm is often used for this, because it gets nice and warm.
