A 19-year-old man surnamed Chen was tried by Chen Mingxian and a man surnamed Zheng nicknamed “Brother Hao” to recruit him to work in Cambodia. Chen refused, and Zheng became dissatisfied and deceived Chen into being imprisoned and beaten in a car beauty shop in Luzhou. Mr. Chen was beaten to the point of extensive bruises on his body, and even suffered from incontinence and vomiting. He eventually died of suffocation due to the inhalation of vomit into the respiratory tract. The Shilin District Prosecutor’s Office concluded its investigation today (21st) and prosecuted 10 people suspected of violence against Chen Nan for the crime of injury resulting in death, and transferred them to the court for trial by a national judge. At the same time, the two teenagers involved in the case are currently under investigation by the Shilin Juvenile Court.
According to the indictment, the main suspect Chen Mingxian and his associates, including Zheng Nan, who is still at large and nicknamed “Brother Hao”, attempted to recruit Chen Nan to go to Cambodia to engage in unknown activities. However, Chen Nan refused and posted “I have If you want to deal with me, I have no objection. If you want to touch me, you have to go through my brother first.” This angered Zheng Nan.

Zheng Nan then issued instructions through the “Brother Hao Makes a Fortune” group on the Telegram software, instructing his younger brother to force Chen Nan to go to Cambodia and requested that the entire process be videotaped. At about 10 pm on August 23 this year (2023), Wang Haoyu invited Chen Nan to the Luzhou District car beauty shop he and Ding Yuqiang jointly run. Chen Nan was beaten with a bat by Chen Mingxian, Wang Haoyu, Ding Yuqiang and several others. He was beaten mercilessly nearly a hundred times with knives, forced to kneel on the ground, and his hands and feet were tied. Chen Nan suffered extreme torture and abuse, and was even sprayed with pepper spray. In addition, he was threatened not to call the police, otherwise he would die.
The assailants then wrapped the seriously injured Chen’s eyes with tape, put them into a car and drove to a house in Tamsui District. At 2 a.m., the assailants found that the man surnamed Chen was incontinent, vomiting and unresponsive. An ambulance was called, but Chen Nan showed no signs of life on the way to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 2:51 after arriving at the hospital. The cause of death was multiple large-scale abrasions on the body and inhalation of vomit into the respiratory tract, which led to subcutaneous soft tissue bleeding, rhabdomyolysis, and suffocation. The Shilin District Prosecutor’s Office investigated the case and finally found 10 people including Chen Youcun, Lin Yimin, Zhang Weicheng, Wang Haoyu, Ding Yuqiang, Jiang Jianyi, Chen Mingxian, Lin Boxen, Chen Mingxiong, and You Zhiwei guilty of the crime of injury causing death. Since the people involved included adults and minors, As an adult, the prosecutor requested to increase his sentence in accordance with the “Child and Juvenile Welfare and Rights Protection Act.” Because this case involves intentional crime resulting in death, it meets the standards for a national judge to participate in the trial, and a custody hearing is expected to be held today.
