“Are you sure I only have to pay 90 €?” », Is astonished this Dutchman intercepted by the motorcyclists of the support motorcycling section of the motorway detachment of the CRS of Moulins-lès-Metz. This Monday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., the CRS, divided between six motorcycles and two ticketing vehicles, carried out speed checks as they do regularly, as part of the departmental road control plan.
Using a portable laser radar, the speed of around 150 vehicles was measured on this section where the limit is set at 90 km / h. It is at the level of the Moulins-lès-Metz ramp, in the Luxembourg-Nancy direction, that the measurements were taken.

Two speeds above 40 km / h
Of the 150 vehicles checked, 10% were speeding. 15 motorists were therefore fined, for speeds ranging from 120 to 145 km / h. Once the vehicle was located nearly 600 meters upstream from the checkpoint, two motorcyclists set off in pursuit of the offenders who were intercepted at the next slip road.
A Dutchman driving a Mercedes 600 SL and a French driver of a Renault Clio were notably caught at respectively 145 km / and 142 km / h on this section limited to 90.
Both had the bad surprise to see their license confiscated and had to give the wheel to a passenger. The Dutchman therefore had to pay a fine of € 90 on the spot, while the French motorist will receive an electronic report to pay his. Like the 13 other offenders who will also lose two points on their license.
