The 2000s were rich in genre and science fiction films. Sometimes incomprehensible, strange or reserved for a certain audience fond of cinema experiences, the science fiction genre can be difficult to appreciate.
In this article we will spare you the oh so popular and successful Interstellarthe trilogy Matrix or Dune that you may (surely) have seen. 10. District 9
Multifacette, District 9 is original in its way of tackling a theme that has already been seen many times in the cinema, extraterrestrials, and the different genres intertwined in the story: action, science fiction, social criticism… The film touches on almost all genres, sometimes even lose some spectators en route by getting scattered. For his first film, Neill Blomkamp imposes his style by delivering a deeper message about his country of origin, South Africa, haunted by Apartheid. A show film that also delivers a fair moral.
