10 Million Laptop Broke During Delivery with JNE, Shopee Buyers Fully Replaced, but Sellers Not!

Allow me to tell you about an unpleasant incident that I experienced at Shopee. Especially regarding handling cases refund funds that have not been completed until I write this article. Well, here’s the chronology of the problem straight away:

I got a laptop order at e-commerce Shopee with details:

  • Price: Rp9,999,000
  • Destination: Sukoharjo, Central Java
  • Nomor order: 2204300CQGWAJW
  • JNE receipt number JTR: JT94328090765, using JNE expedition Trucking (cashless)
  • Delivery date from seller to buyer: April 30, 2022
  • Date received to buyer: May 4, 2022

On May 4, 2022, the goods have arrived to the buyer but the LCD is broken

I (the seller) and the buyer have submitted a complaint to CS Shopee and JNE and require an investigation process of approximately 3 days. I agree because that’s the procedure.

On May 12, 2022, the funds have beenrefund to the buyer IN FULL even though it has passed 3 days. What about my funds for my damaged item? It has not been returned as it is still under investigation. Okay I have no problem and I am still patiently waiting for the next one.

On May 18, 2022, the funds have been disbursed by Shopee with the information “Replacement of damaged goods” to me. Disbursement of funds like this does not go smoothly, aka every day I have to call Shopee to disburse my funds. It’s a bit odd, in my opinion, the buyer has melted, but the seller hasn’t. The case is over in my opinion (at that time).

On May 28, 2022, it was strange that the previously disbursed funds had been disbursed.refund/replaced by Shopee because the item is damaged, taken back by Shopee. How come? The funds that have been given are then taken back by Shopee. I as the seller directly contacted Shopee why the funds were withdrawn, and for those of you who have complained to Shopee, you must have memorized the sentence “I will forward it to the related party, please wait bla bla bla“.

On June 6, 2022, the seller received an email from Shopee that it was ONLY replaced with 10x of VALUE SHIPPING because I don’t use INSURANCE.

It’s weird, now I’m asking the seller Shopee, where is the INSURANCE feature as a SELLER? There isn’t any!

How come Shopee only claims 10x the value shipping? Meanwhile, I have asked more than 1 JNE outlets that for insurance issues follow the party e-commerce-his. In terms of service, especially in terms of security, Shopee is still far from Tokopedia. At Tokopedia, seller and buyer both feel safe, especially in terms of delivery.

The buyer does not add insurance to the purchase of the item. But again, how come? BUYER / BUYER is replaced with funds FULL by Shopee?

I feel very disappointed and feel very disadvantaged by Shopee and JNE, because this has been taking too long. So now I feel anxious to sell goods on Shopee again, especially electronic goods, because Shopee is not cooperative at all and just hands off.

I hope there is good faith or a middle ground, between Shopee or JNE, regarding this case. As of this letter, the case is still not finished. Thank you
